Things to Consider About School Zones

Things to consider about school zones –

Don’t assume anything about what school zone you think you are in. The home across the street could be zoned for different schools than the one you are looking at. Be absolutely certain that the home you are considering is zoned for the school district you want to be in. Make sure you understand your school’s zones and you do the research yourself. You can’t always depend on others to know what the real situation is.

If you are thinking “what do I care about the schools, I don’t have kids?” The school district can effect the value of your home. At some point in the future you may want to sell, then being located in the better the school district, the more valuable the area is.

Home Buying Tip – Pre-Approval

The first thing you should consider doing even before you begin looking for your new home is to get pre-approved. Remember that pre-approval isn’t the same as pre-qualification. Pre-approval from a lender is where they take into account your actual income, debt and credit history.

Why get pre-approved? When you get pre-approved you will know what you can afford and how much you can afford to offer when you find the right home. This way you won’t be wasting your time looking at homes that don’t fit into your budget.

If you have questions let me know, I’ll be happy to answer them.

Bottom line, know what you can really afford.

Give me a call, text, or email me and we’ll work on finding you the perfect home.

What Should You Look for When Buying Your Home?

Tips for Home Buyers –

Check the neighborhoods at different times of day.  Typically when you go see a house  it’s on the weekend.  You go and everything seems to look all very leave it to beaver like.  But you need to know the whole story.  You need to see what the area is like on a Saturday night.  Are there kids and such all out driving with music blasting?  What’s it like in rush hour in the morning or in the evening?  How about during the day in the middle of the week?  Are there trucks going down the street making deliveries to local stores?  How far away is the fire and police department?  Will there be sirens at all hours? These are all things you will want to know ahead of time when considering purchasing a home.  It pays to do your home work (no pun intended).
